Bookmark – To A Mouse
Quoted often today by many who don't realise they are quoting the works of Robert Burns.
Grey in colour displaying a mouse illustration and a quote that reads:
"The best-laid schemes, o' mice an' men, Gang aft Agley."
And on the reverse:
'Burns was referred to as the 'ploughman poet' by Edinburgh society. As a tenant farmer he knew only too well the everyday struggle for survival. In 'To A Mouse' Burns is moved to despair at being the cause of making a wee mouse homeless and compares his own prospects just as bleakly."
